Induction and EPD play a crucial role in the professional formation of teachers in Northern Ireland.
All newly qualified teachers are required to complete Induction and Early Professional Development (EPD). It is the responsibility of your school and Teacher Tutor to send a copy of the letter confirming the successful completion of Induction to GTCNI:
The Registration Team
The General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland
3rd Floor Albany House
73 – 75 Great Victoria Street
Belfast
BT2 7AF
The school should retain a copy for its records, provide you with a copy of the letter and send a copy to the Education Authority’s Induction and EPD Team.
Records for teachers, who completed Induction prior to September 2009, are held by the Teachers’ Salaries and Administration Branch of the Department of Education:

You can also download the EA Beginning Teacher ‘Subbing’ leaflet.
The Induction requirements are set out in ‘The Teacher Education Partnership Handbook‘ on the Department of Education website.
