  • Payment of Teacher Registration Fees 2022/23.

    It is important to note that though the Council of GTCNI has been stood-down, the organisation itself remains operational. As GTCNI was established under legislation, its dissolution will require the passage of fresh legislation by the NI Assembly.

  • Status of Council

    On 13th December 2021 the Minister for Education announced in the Northern Ireland Assembly her decision to stand down the Board of GTCNI (the Council) with immediate effect. This was in light of an independent review of Board effectiveness and its operation. The form of future governance arrangements are to be considered. In the interim governance of GTCNI will be undertaken by the Department of Education. The day to day operation of GTCNI continues and the organisation itself remains open.

  • The NI Graduate invoicing process is currently underway, invoices will be issued by email.

    Graduates should be submitting their application forms and documentation to us at this stage.

  • GTCNI Phone Lines

    Our phone lines will reopen from Monday 17th January 2022 between the hours 8.30am-12.00pm & 2.00pm-4.30pm.

  • Registration of Teachers / School Placements

    School Year 2022. Anyone wishing to renew their registration, please contact the Registration Team directly for advice and obtain a form if required.

  • COVID-19

    The GTCNI offices remain closed with staff working remotely until further notice. We would ask for your patience and co-operation with us at this time as we try to maintain business as usual as far as possible in the present circumstances.

The Department of Education are inviting qualified ex–teachers from primary and secondary education teachers asking them to temporarily return to the classroom so children can continue to benefit from face–to–face education. 

If not already providing substitute cover please register on NISTR. Your time will be invaluable, in whatever capacity that you can spare, whether it is one day a week or five. In so doing, you will be helping protect children and young people’s education.

  • Persons previously NISTR registered, please contact the NISTR registration team at nistr@eani.org.uk as it may be possible to reactivate your registration.  Please quote your NISTR ID, if available, in all correspondence. 

GTCNI

  • Persons with a ‘’lapsed’’ GTCNI registration, can be reactivated on payment of registration fee accessed via www.GTCNI.org.uk accessing MyGTCNI portal to make a payment. 
  • GTCNI office reopens 4th January 2022.Further enquires please contact registration@gtcni.org.uk   Please quote your TR number in all correspondence.

For non–registration queries please leave a message and someone will get back to you. If you have a registration query can you please email registration@gtcni.org.uk

We request that all applications and supporting documents be scanned in PDF format and emailed as attachments to registration@gtcni.org.uk. 

Please note that the current UK application processing time is approximately 6–8 weeks from the date we receive all required documentation.
