Details of any upcoming hearing will appear here at least five working days before it is due to take place.
Members the press and the public can attend hearings and a small number of observer places are available for this purpose. If you wish to attend as an observer, you should contact the GTCNI Regulation Team in advance by phone: (028) 9033 3390 or email: regulation@gtcni.org.uk
However, anyone wishing to attend a hearing should know that:
- Hearings are subject to sudden cancellation or postponement. Those travelling long distances are advised to confirm that a hearing is still taking place by telephoning the GTCNI before the hearing; and
- Hearings are held in public in accordance with the Human Rights Act. However, a registered teacher can request that all or part of a hearing be held in private. The Committee will consider any such request on the day of the hearing. Where all or any part of a hearing is held in private, this will not be open to observers.
